ST. LOUIS – A federal jury found a leading operator of unregulated slot machines in Missouri liable for false advertising and unfair competition related to the company’s promotion of “no chance” gambling devices.
Nine people have been indicted in connection with a multimillion-dollar illegal gambling ring that operated several casino-type establishments throughout Southwest Missouri. In announcing the indictments, authorities estimated the operation laundered more than $9.5 million.

It was ruled Thursday by the state court that Pennsylvania Skill games are legal. The Commonwealth Court ruled in the case, which was first brought forth in Dauphin County, that “Pace-O-Matic (POM) machines are not slot machines” and that they are legal, according to a news release.
Pennsylvania skill games have operated in a gray area for years. In a briefing from the Pennsylvania Attorney General‘s office, the momentum to ban skill games is picking up steam.
